Intercol produces various blends with vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE). These dispersions are based on copolymers produced by emulsion polymerization of hard, polar vinyl acetate monomer and soft, hydrophobic ethylene monomer. Ethylene gives VAE polymers permanent flexibility. Therefore, VAE does not require an external plasticizer such as triacetin.
We are experienced in conducting research and development on customized products to improve efficiency and reduce costs throughout our customers' processes.
One of the main uses of triacetin is as a plasticizer in chewing gum. Triacetin as a plasticizer in adhesives for food packaging purposes is generally recognized as safe (GRAS). It also complies with EU food packaging legislation. Triacetin is also recognized as "GRAS" in animal feed and for various other food packaging applications.
Intercol's adhesives based on VAE dispersions can be formulated for various applications, such as in the paper and packaging industry, food packaging, envelope manufacturing.
